Parent carers and children aged five and above who are in a clinical risk group will be eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine booster this autumn.

The full list of people eligible for an autumn 2022 vaccine booster is:

  • Anyone aged five and above in a clinical risk group (clinical risk groups for children are set out in the Green Book p22 [PDF]).
  • Anyone aged five and above who lives with someone who is immunosuppressed.
  • Carers aged 16 and above.
  • Everyone aged over 50.
  • Health and social care staff (as set out in the Green Book p18 [PDF]).

The booster roll-out recommendation comes from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), which advises governments in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The government hasn’t confirmed the exact dates for the booster roll-out yet, though it may begin in September. We will let you know when they do.
