The second instalment of the £650 cost-of-living payment for UK families on means-tested benefits will be paid between 8 and 23 November for most claimants, the government has confirmed.

Those in receipt of tax credits will get their second payment a bit later, between 23 and 30 November.

The £324 payment follows an earlier instalment of £326 which eligible families should have received in July. If you haven’t received the first instalment, you can report a missed payment on the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) website.

Payments will be made automatically into the same bank account as your means-tested benefit or tax credits. You do not need to do anything to receive the money.

In order to qualify for this lump sum payment, you must have been entitled to one of the following DWP means-tested benefits on 25 September 2022:

The government announced the total package of £650 in May 2022 to help low-income families through the cost of living crisis.
