The Webinar, to be presented by Helen Smith Solicitor with Irwin Mitchell LLP, will cover an introduction to the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the Court of Protection and the legal framework in place from a health and welfare perspective. This includes decisions made on behalf of incapacitated individuals in relation to care, residence, contact, sexual relations and marriage. The seminar will also cover the principle of 'best interests' and the decision making process generally for individuals who lack capacity. We will cover what happens when disputes arise as to 'best interests' and issues surrounding deprivation of liberty.

- Entitlement to continuing healthcare.
