Meet Scott as he prepares to take on Tough Mudder!
Friday May 4, 2018
Today, we'd like to introduce you to Scott Mitchell, who has
signed up with his friend to take part in Tough Mudder on Saturday
5 May. The pair are raising vital funds for families living with
hemiplegia.
Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Scott Mitchell and I am taking part in Tough Mudder
with my friend Sam Maclannan. We both live in Uxbridge.
What is your motivation for supporting families living with
hemiplegia?
One of my cousin's boys has hemiplegia due to early
complications being born 15 weeks early. We wanted to help as much
as we can so families whose child has hemiplegia can continue to
get the support they need.
What made you decide to take on Tough Mudder?
I had previously completed Tough Mudder in 2014 (it's taken me
four years to brave it again!) and thought what better way to raise
some money than being electrocuted and jumping in ice water!
What are you looking forward to most about the challenge?
The real answer would be finishing, knowing it's over! But this
is a personal challenge as well. As we are not really long distance
runners, being able to build the mental and physical strength to
complete this course will be an achievement in itself for Sam and
I.
What are you looking forward to least about the challenge?
Possibly the weather. This can make a massive difference on the
day and bare a physical toll if too hot or too cold. But again the
real answer would be looking at the start line thinking we have 12
miles to run!
