Concerned about getting the right support for your child in school ? Take a look at our brand new parent workshops!

Tuesday 24th November 2020

If you want to know more about how to get the right support in school for your child with additional needs then our new workshops could be just what you're looking for.

Our first new workshop is for parents with younger children who want to find out about what educational support is available in Early Years settings like pre-schools and nurseries.

This workshop will run on the 2nd December and again on 16th December at 10am.

Our second workshop focusing on education is aimed at parents with older school age who have additional needs. You can choose to join this workshop on the 3rd, 7th, 8th and 9th December - all starting at 7:30pm.

Both of these free workshops aim to help you understand more about what educational support is available for your child and what an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is, how it can help and how to apply for one. They'll also look at the best way to challenge decisions about your child's education support and how to engage effectively with the professionals who support your child.

How to handle meetings more effectively

Another new topic we've introduced to our growing list of parent workshops is called Handling Meetings Effectively.

This two hour workshop will help you feel more confident and better able to express yourself when discussing your child's specialist needs with the professionals that support them. It aims to help you develop your skills for online and face to face meetings with professionals so you make the right decisions and get the right support for your child.

You can sign up to join this workshop on either 1st or 9th December at 10am or in the evening on 2nd December at 730pm.

You'll find more information about these and all of our free parent workshops on our website where we add new dates and times all the time  - so please keep checking back.
