This year our North East team kicked off the celebrations with a family fun day with Seven Stories, the national centre for children's books, and Sensory Spaces, a group who organise multisensory play across the north of England.

With magicians, sensory play, dinosaur games and of course lots of ROAR-some dinosaur outfits, the day was a fantastic success.

The inspiration behind Dinosaur Day

Cameron Mathieson was a boy who had both Cystic Fibrosis and Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy and sadly passed away when he was five years old after spending 3 of those years in hospital. He loved dinosaurs - or as he called them, Dowsers - and his favourite Dowser was a green triceratops called Troy.

We support families like the Mathieson's to ensure that they can make every moment count, whatever the disability, and live life to the fullest extent they can. With your help we can support more families, and guide them through the challenges they face every day.

What are you doing for Dinosaur Day?

This year we had more families than ever sign up for Dinosaur Day.

Whether you held a cake sale with a prehistoric or Dinosaur theme, organised a Dinosaur dress down day at school, or sponsored your boss to wear a Dinosaur mask for the day, we want to hear from you!

Visit our Facebook page and tell us how you got involved.
