Last chance to take part in Counting the Costs 2018
Wednesday 27th June 2018
Mums, dads and other family members who care for children and young people with additional needs or disabilities: this is your last chance to take part in important research about family finances and changes to the benefits system.
Counting the Costs 2018 is the 10th anniversary of our flagship research into family finances. The survey closes on 30th June, so if you haven't taken part already, we need you!
By filling out the survey you will be helping us to raise awareness and campaign for change - particularly as cuts to benefits continue to hit families with disabled children hard.
Why does Counting the Costs matter?
In Counting the Costs 2014, we found there was a sharp rise in the number of families with disabled children going without heating and food. This was leading to too many disabled children and their families suffering ill health.
As a result of the research our campaign achieved a number of improvements. Access to the Warm Home Discount Scheme was standardise to low income families with disabled children (and those with children under five). The government also announced an increase in the maximum amount of money that parents of disabled children can pay into their childcare scheme accounts.
Help us get to 3,000 names!
Over 2,500 parents and carers have taken part in our research so far. Help us get to 3,000 names by completing the survey today.
In particular, we're keen to make sure we hear voices from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
