New look to our online community

Friday 24th May 2019

We wanted to let you know about some changes we've made to our onine community. We've been looking at usage over the last year and have made it easier for you to chat, share your experiences and support each other.

This is why the community might look a bit different from how you're used to seeing it.

Conditions chat

We've closed the conditions groups on the community. Instead we've created a new section called Conditions chat, where you can talk to others about your child's particular disability or medical condition.

We've made this change so that all the conversation around conditions happens in one place, instead of being spread out across the site.

Age-group discussion boards

There are four new sections for you to chat with others about caring for your child depending on their age, roughly covering pre-schoolers (0-4), primary (5-10), secondary (11-15) and young people moving into adulthood aged 16+.

We hope this makes it easier for you to find other parents going through some of the same things you are. Of course, within these age groups you can talk about anything you like!

Local support

We've created a section where you can can share activities, events, news and information from your local area.

Take a break

And finally, you can talk about anything you want to in our Tea Break section. This is the place for you to put the kettle on, get the biscuits out and chat about everything and anything - it doesn't have to be related to disability.

Let us know what you think

We really hope you like the changes but please let us know what you think on our thread: Suggestions for the community.
