Monday 25th September 2017

Scotland's first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, has confirmed details of a new grant for young carers at school.

Starting from Autumn 2019, a grant of £300 per year will be paid to 16- 18 year olds at school who are involved in helping to care for someone for at least 16 hours a week and who do not get carer's allowance.

The first minister also confirmed that from 2020/21 all youngsters who get a young carers grant will also be provided with a free bus pass.
