Money matters

There are hundreds of thousands of children with additional or complex needs in the UK. Their families typically have lower-than-average incomes while also facing higher living costs as a result of the costs of living with disability. Many are entitled to access the benefits system.

This course provides an understanding of the range of financial help families with disabled children can access and demystifies the benefits system.

Who is the course for?

This course is designed to support the parents of disabled children who may be entitled to support from the benefits system, or who are otherwise experiencing financial difficulty as a consequence of the extra costs associated with raising a child with additional needs.

The course has been designed by our expert welfare rights team, who have more than 30 years' experience working with the benefits system. It will be delivered by our qualified and experienced Contact a Family practitioners.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand the benefits system, and the key benefits available to them.
  • Have confidence in their understanding of the range of financial help they can access.
  • Be able to make accurate and informed benefit applications and know how to access more assistance should they need it.

This course can be tailored to meet your individual needs. To discuss specifics, please contact our team using the contact details provided below.
