We offer support to parents and carers of disabled children as well as professionals working with families.


If you want support, phone us on 020 7326 5156 or email us. You don't need a formal referral but if you would prefer, a supporting professional can contact us on your behalf.

Contact in Southwark also help fill out Family Fund grant forms for children with a disability or special need alongside other grant forms which can be obtained from our office.

Events we run:

  • regular informal workshops for parents where you can gain information, share experiences and learn how to help yourself and your child. Recent topics have included managing money, coping with stress, and travelling with a disabled child
  • an annual programme of events open to Southwark residents who have a child with any additional need or disability
  • regular free pampering massage and reflexology sessions to parents and carers
  • monthly coffee mornings where parent carers can meet up and have a chat.

Family Fund want to give more grants to families

Family Fund is the UK's largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled children or seriously ill children, helping 72,043 families last year with over £33 million of grants and services. They are able to help with grants such as family breaks, appliances, day trips, computers, clothes, sensory toys, iPads and much more.

Family Fund are always trying to reach more families, and are particularly looking to reach more families in Peckham and Camberwell at the moment. If you haven't applied to Family Fund before, now is the time. You can pick up a Family Fund form from our drop-ins at Sunshine House every Monday between 10am and 12:30pm.

If you have any issues or forms to fill in or would like to talk to Caroline, our family worker, we host a drop-in at Sunshine House every Monday between 10am and 12:30pm.

We will also have a drop-in at Rye Oak Children's Centre every third Friday of the month 10am and 12:30pm, where you can also grab a hot drink!

Speaking of drinks, we'll also be at Park Life Cafe in Burgess Park on Friday 19 August between 2pm and 4pm where you can have a chat and also grab a drink to refresh yourself.

ADHD Support Group for Parents/ Carers

Contact a Family Southwark invites all parent and carers of children with ADHD to our support group. Please come out to share what approaches are working for you and come and get some tips from other parents, family workers and professionals.

The support group will take place at Camberwell Library, SE5 7AL.
