Better Together

Better Together is our series of fun and engaging activities popular with families with disabled children who might not always have had the opportunity to take part in. For more information or to join our mailing list please email better.together@contact.org.uk

A Better Together session could be focused on nature, art, music or sport but not restricted to these. Better Together activities are a great opportunity for parents to meet each other and our parent support workers.

Case study: Better Together Forest School in Wales

Adults and children drawing pictures at forest event

Our Forest School events are outdoors fun days for disabled children and their families in Wales.

Children can enjoy the great outdoors and learn about nature, while parents can meet other families with disabled children in the local area.

Sessions include fire building, making bread on an open fire and stick peeling.

“My son has complex needs and isn’t able to do very much for himself. It was a success for us today to be able to stay for so long with other families. He smiled most of the time, so that counts as a very good day for us.”

“I was so happy to see Rhian playing outdoors and climbing trees. All the children mixed and it was great to meet other parents.”
