We have lots of FREE online parent workshops for parent carers of children with autism coming up this May as part of our work with Autism Central which aims to make it easier to learn more about autism and services available to parent carers.

The workshops for families based in either the Midlands or London include:

Supporting toileting on Tuesday 7 May, 7-9pm. This workshop aims to help you understand factors that could affect toileting and will provide you tips and strategies to help.

Getting extra help in school on Thursday 9 May, 10am-12 will help you understand more about what additional help autistic children are entitled to at school.

Supporting your child to play, Tuesday 14 May, 7-9pm. At this workshop you’ll learn why play is important and hear tips and ideas for play with your child.

Using a one-page profile on Thursday 16 May, 10am-12. This workshop you’ll find out more about one page profiles – a useful tool to share with your child’s teachers to help highlight their individuality.

Understanding autism, Tuesday 21 May, 7-9pm.

All of these workshops are commissioned by NHS England’s Workforce, Training and Education Team and are part of the Autism Central programme offering families and carers of autistic people high-quality and accessible autism information, education and coaching. Contact and Ambitious about Autism are the London and Midlands Regional Hub partners for the programme.
