We will support with: information and advice regarding your disabled child’s needs, SEN support in schools, DLA & PIP applications & mandatory reconsiderations, grants for families, benefits support for disability elements and universal credit, understanding the diagnosis, referrals to specialist, statutory and voluntary services, information about what’s available in Ealing and beyond, transition support, emotional support, family linking, Blue Badge applications, and information about leisure and respite opportunities. Walk & Talk eventsWe run monthly Walk & Talk sessions for parent of children with special educational need and disabilities, exploring local parks together and supporting each other. View our upcoming walk and talk events. Holiday events for familiesWe run activities for the whole family to attend in the Easter Holidays, Summer Holidays, October Half Term and Christmas Holidays. Activities include trips to Kew Garden, to the local zoo, (pandemic permitting) to the beach, as well as a yearly Christmas Party. Please register with us to receive more information. Helping Hands provides family support for parents of children on the waiting lists for CAMHS, NDTs and Child Development Services in Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham. We regularly cover topics such as: Understanding your child’s behaviour Growing Up, Puberty, Sex and Relationships Universal Credit and benefit changes DLA and PIP Toilet Training Transition to Adult Services Support for the siblings SEN support in education Helping your child to manage anxiety Plus other topics in response to parents’ requests. In addition, we run a monthly Autism Group which focusses on Autism specific topics and parent to parent support.
