Thank you

We are honoured to continue to work with forums, and the National Network of Parent Carer Forums, and we are committed to continue to develop our guidance, including this handbook, with you.

Thank you to everyone involved in developing this handbook, all the forums that have fed in their views and suggestions and to the National Network of Parent Carer Forums who have shared their expertise, knowledge and ideas.

Our role

Contact is  the lead partner in a Department for Education funded consortium contract with KIDS, the Council for Disabled Children, and the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) covering strategic participation and family support. This  contract aims to ensure that parent carers and children and young people with SEND have access to information, advice and support when they need it and feel confident, knowledgeable and empowered to be involved in influencing the delivery of SEND services and provision in England. Find out more about our consortium’s work in the Other sources of national information section of the handbook.

As part of this contract we  also administer the Department for Education parent carer participation grant for forums and provide the core and enhanced offer of support described here. Forums are independent organisations, which means they decide how they run and operate within the terms of the Department for Education grant.
