Bring DinoDay to your child’s school

Here’s everything you need to invite your child’s primary school or nursery to get involved with DinoDay, our annual awareness and fundraising event for families with disabled children.

We know the difference that expert advice and support can make to parent carers of disabled children, and so we want every family to be able to access our vital services when they need it.

This year, parent carers can help spread the word about our life-changing support services by inviting their child’s primary school or nursery to get involved with DinoDay, our annual awareness and fundraising event in June.

How to invite your child’s school or nursery

Simply copy and paste the text below into an email to your child’s school or nursery, and we’ll do the rest!

Once they register their interest, we’ll provide your school or nursery with everything they need to get involved, including fun activities for the kids, information about Contact, and helpful disability resources.

I support a wonderful charity called Contact that provides life-changing advice and support for families with children who have disabilities and additional needs.

It would be brilliant if the school would consider supporting Contact’s upcoming annual event in June – DinoDay! It will raise awareness about disabilities and Contact’s vital services.

Many parents in our school community could benefit from Contact’s support, and DinoDay is a fantastic way to shine a light on everything the charity has to offer them.

Teachers could run some fun DinoDay activities in class using Contact’s free resources. The school could organise a non-school uniform day or even a sponsored dino-stomp around the school or local area.

Here’s a link to register your interest so you can receive a DinoDay pack with fun activities for schools and more information on the event: www.contact.org.uk/register

You can also get in touch with Kaya at Contact via [email protected] or 020 7608 8786 for more information or if you have any questions.

Even if you don’t run any DinoDay activities, it would be great to link parents to Contact’s support on their website in the school’s next newsletter: www.contact.org.uk/support-for-families

Thank you.

What is DinoDay?

DinoDay is our annual awareness and fundraising event on 19 June. Every donation helps provide vital support services to families of children with disabilities and additional needs.

Families can get involved at home by joining the DinoDay Challenge, an exciting and inclusive opportunity to take on 19 fun challenges of your choice in support of Contact. There’s no fundraising target, and children get a free DinoDay t-shirt and activity tracker to keep track of their progress.

Meanwhile, schools and nurseries can join the fun by hosting a series of fun DinoDay activities to help raise awareness of disability and special educational needs. Invite your child’s school to take part and see for yourself the difference it can make!
