Who can take part?
Everyone! Bring your children for a fun family day out, round up your friends to have a laugh, or rally your colleagues for a team challenge – everyone’s welcome at this exciting and inclusive event.
To ensure the safety of all children taking part, please complete a child registration form for your child/children prior to the start of the event.
How can I register my children?
Santa in the City is a chance for the whole family to have a blast together. To ensure the safety of all children (under the age of 18) taking part, a parent or guardian must complete a child registration form prior to the start of the event. Please click here to complete the registration form for your child/children.
What freebies are included?
Children under 18 have free entry, all adult participants will receive a free five-piece Santa outfit (including a hat, beard, jacket, trousers and belt), and everyone goes home with a free medal!
How much will I need to fundraise for Contact?
To help us make a difference for families this winter, we’re asking participants to raise £80 for Contact as part of their sponsored entry. By meeting our £80 fundraising target, you could make a huge impact by funding 4 hours of transformational one-to-one family support in a specialist children’s hospital this Christmas.
Your £15 registration fee (for adult tickets) will also be donated straight to Contact. Children under 18 have free entry.
What are the event timings and route?
Whether you’re attending on 2, 3 or 4 December, the Santa in the City event will begin at 7pm in Paternoster Square by the majestic St Paul’s Cathedral. The route goes along the North Bank before crossing the Thames via Southwark Bridge, taking you along the Thames Path past Shakespeare’s Globe and towards the Tate Modern. There you will cross the river once again, this time over the Millennium Bridge, before returning to Paternoster Square to complete a truly iconic route full of word-famous views!
Whether you choose to walk, jog or run, this is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit whilst fundraising for Contact.
Do I need to prepare for the event?
The Santa in the City route is relatively flat and you can choose to walk, jog or run – so no previous running experience is needed to take part.
However, we do recommend preparing ahead by wearing warm clothes and arriving at the start point 5-10 minutes before the event is due to begin. Walkers will start at 7pm and runners start at 7.15pm.
You can collect your free five-piece Santa suit (including a hat, beard, jacket, trousers and belt) from 1pm onwards on the day of your event at Paternoster Square. Collections end at 7pm. You will receive your free medal at the finish line.
Please be aware that there are no bag drop facilities available at the event.
