An important update from the Contact Lewisham team

Dear parents and partners,

We wanted to let you know that very sadly, funding for our Contact Family Support service in Lewisham will be coming to an end on 30 April 2026 and the service will be closing.

This means Friday 24 April will be our last day directly supporting families, after which the team will need to focus on administration and office tasks.

We apologise for this short notice. We had hoped to secure funding to continue the service, but sadly this has not been possible. As a result, we have had to make the difficult decision to close our Lewisham service.

Contact has had a presence in Lewisham for over 40 years, and we wanted all of our families to know what a privilege and honour it has been to work with so many of you during our time here. You are an inspiration to us all.

For the past three years, our service in Lewisham has been funded by City Bridge Trust. Contact has worked hard to secure funding for the future, but this has proved difficult in the current climate.

Although we will no longer have an office in Lewisham, Contact’s national services are always here for you with information, support and advice, wherever you live in the UK.

Deep Rest sessions continue every Wednesday

We will also continue to run our free Deep Rest online sessions for all London parents on Wednesday evenings.

Take time for yourself and practise ‘Deep Rest’ – techniques that allow you to slow down your mind, regenerate, and reduce stress. Join us and learn this relaxation practice, no equipment or fitness level required.

We are sure you will join the whole Contact team in saying an enormous thank you to Liam and Jennifer, who have supported so many families as part of our Contact Lewisham service for many years now. We are proud of the difference their advice and support have made to families in Lewisham and will continue to fundraise for Contact Lewisham so that, hopefully, we can offer more support again in future.

Finally, we just wanted to let you know how much we have valued working with you and for your support over the years and hope that you will continue to promote Contact and use our national services as detailed above.
