Information, advice & support
We provide online, printed and helpline advice on education,
benefits and finances, childcare, social care, medical information
and more.
Online advice & support
The Contact website provides advice and information about any concern you might have about raising a child with additional needs or a disability.
We have a Common Questions
Tool to help you find what you're looking for quickly and
easily; a
benefits calculator and a
grants finder. You
can also browse
our printed parent guides available to download or order.
Helpline & live chat
If you can't find what you need on our website, you can call our free helpline on 0808 808 3555 between 9.30am-5pm Monday to Friday or email helpline@contact.org.uk
We provide different services on our helpline, including Benefits Callbacks.
You can also talk to us on Live Chat or ask a question on our social media channels.
Listening Ear
Our Listening Ear service is for parent carers looking for emotional support, practical advice and ideas and strategies to cope with the daily challenges you face - especially now, during the pandemic.
It's a free and totally confidential telephone call-back service. Book a one-hour slot via Eventbrite at a time that suits you to talk through anything worrying you with one of our friendly, non-judgemental family support workers, some of whom have a child with additional needs themselves and so understand exactly where you are coming from.
Social media and online community
Our Facebook and Twitter profiles are open to public and private messages, staffed by our helpline team, and there you can find and discuss our latest news and advice.
We also have a closed Facebook group and an online community for parents who want to talk with a bit more privacy.
Podcasts & video
Our podcast, The Helpful podcast for families with disabled children, is available on your favourite podcasting platform.
Our Youtube page is where you can find our latest videos and webinars.
Newsletters
You can sign up to Contact's range of e-newsletters, to keep up-to-date with all the latest disability news, updates about Contact's work and activities, and opportunities for you to get involved in what we do.
